Jay went to Monarch and had an awesome day!   With a weekday off from cranking out tunes and a haphazard plan with a buddy, I woke up at the traditional time the average Denverite gets up to go ski at one of the "metro resorts" (7:00 am) and burned rubber down 285 instead of I-70.     On Sunday we held our first group ride at the iconic Elk Meadow! We had an excellent turnout with a few of us riding fat bikes from Borealis for the first time. We started rolling and made our way up the trail. After a few minutes of climbing we took a much needed breather. We paused at the top to encourage the store manager, Mike, (he was very afraid) that he could do the downhill section. This was his first real mountain bike ride after all... The paddling season is in full swing right now in Colorado. The days are warm and the rivers are at peak flow. The crew here at Evergreen Mountain Sports have been hitting it hard this year. With a new compliment of whitewater SUPs at our disposal, matched with a sadistic desire for dawn patrol runs we’ve been able to put the new fleet through the wringer. 5:00 AM the alarm clock goes off... Snooze button.... 5:05 and snooze.... 5:10, "ugg, alright lets go..." This is me in the morning. I pull into the EMS parking lot around 6:20 to meet up with Bogs and Paul and off we go to Steamboat. The drive to Steamboat took us roughly 2 hours and some change but it was scenic and beautiful.
